Who Won Canelo vs. Christian Mbilli? Results and Official Scorecards

Canelo Álvarez defeated Christian Mbilli by unanimous decision on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in the main event at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to regain the WBC super middleweight championship. The Mexican boxer secured the victory with official scores of 115-112, 116-111 and 117-110, completing his comeback after losing to Terence Crawford 13 months ago. Although Mbilli showed resistance during the opening rounds, Álvarez took control in the middle and late stages of the fight with accurate punching, defensive discipline and ring experience. The victory puts Canelo back on the championship scene at 36 and leaves questions about his next opponent, with Hamzah Sheeraz and interim WBC champion Lester Martínez emerging as potential challengers.

Canelo Álvarez won the main event by unanimous decision, reclaiming the WBC super middleweight title. All three ringside judges scored the contest in favor of the Mexican, who controlled much of the second half of the 12-round fight. The undercard also produced several decisive results, including Jaime Munguia’s unanimous decision victory over Nikita Zon and Rafael Espinoza’s third-round technical knockout of Ricardo Blandon after a doctor stopped the contest.

Canelo Alvarez enters the matchup with a professional record of 63 wins, three losses and two draws, including 39 victories by knockout. The Mexican fighter will rely on his championship experience, precision punching and body attack to control an opponent known for applying pressure and throwing combinations. After losing to Crawford by unanimous decision in September 2025, Alvarez will look for a statement victory that puts him back among the leading contenders in the super middleweight division.

Christian Mbilli brings a record of 29 wins, one draw and no losses, with 24 victories by knockout. The French-Cameroonian boxer was elevated to full WBC champion in January 2026 and will face one of the biggest names in the sport in a major test of his title reign. His aggressive style and forward pressure will challenge Canelo’s defense throughout the scheduled 12 rounds.
