Wild Recall Tyler Pitlick, Place Marcus Foligno On IR

The Minnesota Wild have a pair of brothers on their injured reserve headed into Monday’s matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights. Forward Marcus Foligno was moved to IR with a mid-body injury, per Michael Russo of The Athletic. He joins his brother, Nick Foligno, who is recovering from an upper-body injury. Marcus’ IR designation will be retroactive to October 8th. That will force him out of games on Monday and Tuesday, making Thursday’s matchup against the St. Louis Blues the soonest that he could return.

Foligno has no scoring and 13 hits through four games so far. He ranks third on the Wild in hits, behind Yakov Trenin (18) and Michael McCarron (14). He finished second on the team in hits last season, with 180 behind Trenin’s franchise record 413. Foligno’s year was also marked by 13 points through 56 games – continuing a downward trend in scoring since his career-high 42 points in the 2021-22 season.

In a corresponding move, the Wild have recalled forward Tyler Pitlick. He was on the AHL lineup throughout last week – and now returns after playing two games with the AHL’s Iowa Wild over the weekend. He didn’t manage any scoring in those matchups but still boasts three points on the year. Pitlick will add depth to the lineup as Minnesota prepares to travel to Winnipeg for Tuesday’s game.

Pitlick was called up to the NHL lineup three times during the 2025-26 season. He ended the season with two goals and 24 penalty minutes in 32 NHL games and 15 points in 20 AHL games. It marked a return to an NHL role for Pitlick, who didn’t touch the minor leagues between the 2016-17 and 2022-23 seasons. Across his career, the depth forward has totaled 111 points in 452 NHL games.

Minnesota’s forward lines will remain unchanged from Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Pitlick will become the only extra forward on the Wild roster, while the team awaits the return of the Foligno brothers.
