Yuzvendra Chahal reveals why he was left out of India’s 2023 ODI World Cup Squad

New Delhi: Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has come up and revealed the reason why he was not included in the India’s squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Chahal said that the Indian Cricket Team captain at that time, Rohit Sharma had a different team selection strategy for the tournament.
Chahal said the team management wanted stronger batting depth, with batters available up to No. 8. The team was also looking to include an additional fast bowler, which affected Chahal’s chances of making the squad.
Chahal explained that the captain had made the decision clear to him when he went to play county cricket in 2023. Although the leg-spinner was disappointed to miss the tournament, he said the explanation helped him understand the team’s plans.
He focused on enjoying his game and performing well rather than putting additional pressure on himself. Chahal later earned a place in India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup following an impressive Indian Premier League season.
