AFL trade period LIVE: All eyes on Nick Blakey as day four continues; Coniglio stays with Giants

Thanks so much for joining us today on our AFL trade blog.
We will be back tomorrow morning with another day of live coverage, so please join us then. In the meantime, keep an eye out for our daily trade podcast later this evening.
Have a lovely night. Bye for now.
Hawthorn are in productive talks with Gold Coast for Aidan Schubert who has agreed to join the Suns on a five-year deal.
The Hawks are waiting for the Suns to confirm whether they will let Ben King cross to them as a restricted free agent.
The Schubert deal will have to stand along from King’s move as a free agent.
This would earn the Suns pick number seven in the national draft and would give them a valuable bargaining chip for any pursuit of Nick Blakey.
The Hawks are keen on luring North’s defender Josh Goater, but this negotiation will be left until next week according to industry sources.
Geelong have shown Jordan Ridley in blue and white hoops in some social media posts this afternoon.
While Sydney wanted to keep Joel Amartey, they are still happy with their key forward stocks heading into 2027.
Amartey opted to move to Carlton where he signed a long-term deal.
Swans head of list strategy Chris Keane took plenty of solace from the rapid growth of Logan McDonald during the finals.
McDonald kicked nine goals in two finals while the Swans also see promise in how big man Peter Ladhams is developing his play in the forward line.

North have become the front-runners after making Nick Blakey an eight-year offer worth more than a $1 million a year as they desperately seek to land the star half-back flanker.
Gold Coast were prepared to take on Nick Blakey’s deal from the Swans, which lasts until 2031, but are not prepared to make that sort of offer to the speedster, while the Cats effectively ruled themselves out of the race when they used their first pick to land the Saints’ Rowan Marshall.
Essendon remain a chance to make a pitch given their personal connections with Blakey while the Saints are considered long shots despite their keenness for a running defender.
West Coast AFLW player Charlotte Riggs pulled in this powerful mark and bowled over a couple of opponents in the process to claim the mark-of-the-year nomination for round eight.
Carlton have locked in AFLW All-Australian defensive ace Harriet Cordner until the end of 2028.
The Blues announced Cordner’s extension on Thursday, and it’s a substantial re-signing as Cordner leads the AFLW in intercept possessions at 10.6 per game, intercept marks (3.6 per game) and is second in marks (6.4).
“Harriet’s work ethic sets the standard for the rest of the team,” Blues coach Mathew Buck said.
“She is relentless in her preparation and is constantly looking for ways to refine her craft and elevate her game.
Plenty has been said about how Rowan Marshall’s acquisition could help young ruckman Mitch Edwards’ development.
But commentator Brad Johnson has raised another Cat who could greatly benefit from Marshall’s arrival.
“Mark Blicavs hasn’t been spoken about yet,” Johnson said on AFL trade radio on Thursday.
“This should keep him from having to go into the centre bounces and ruck against the biggest, ruckman.
“It could let him settle into that utility role and run down the wings and fill other roles for the last few years of his career.”
