According to Small Dog Rescue of New England, the 1½-year-old pup "has been through it for sure in her short life", yet through it all, her spirit has remained remarkably warm and her love for people and other dogs fully intact.

According to PAWS New England, a small dog named Poppy, described as an approximately 15-pound mini Australian Shepherd mix, is currently safe in a southern foster home after being dumped behind a restaurant in Texas called Pop’s, where she got her name. PAWS New England says Poppy is nearing her first birthday and is now available for adoption through their organization.

PAWS New England is shining a spotlight on Gus, an easygoing, “easy to love hunk of a dog” who’s ready for a fresh start and a family of his own. In a recent post, the New England–based rescue described him as a calm, affectionate “couch potato” who enjoys life at a relaxed pace, especially if there’s a comfy place to settle and someone nearby to love him.
