The club confirmed on Tuesday, October 27, that the 33-year-old would not be offered a playing contract for the upcoming season.
"The decision follows consideration of a range of factors including the future direction of our football program as we continue to prioritise the development of emerging talent ahead of our entry into the AFL and AFLW in 2028," Devils' head of VFL/VFLW Aaron Pidgeon said.
"The club's expectations regarding player behaviour and adherence to our standards were also considered as part of this decision.
"We thank Robbie for his contribution in our inaugural year as a VFL player and leader."
The utility, who predominantly featured in defence, had his best performance against his former club, Sydney, in round 19 where he had 32 disposals and 10 marks.
Fox joined the Devils after an eight-year stint with the Swans, where he played 105 games.
He had been tied to a Coastal return in recent weeks, with suggestions he could join Ulverstone for the 2027 NWFL season.
However, it is understood - at least at this stage - that no decision has been made on whether he will join this year's runners-up.
