Sunday Funday in Cortez & Bradenton: Live Music, NFL Football and Waterfront Fun on October 18

The Suncoast Post | Sunday, October 18, 2026
Sunday Funday is back along Cortez Road and the historic fishing-village waterfront. This week, three venues have confirmed live performances, while football fans have a dedicated game-watching option at Clancy’s and afternoon activities at 88 Live. Here is what the four businesses have actually published for Sunday, October 18—without filling in missing details with guesses.
Doug Deming & the Jewel Tones • 5–8 p.m.
Cortez Kitchen’s official event calendar lists Doug Deming & the Jewel Tones from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The waterfront restaurant combines live music with seafood, cocktails and a relaxed Old Florida setting. Sunday hours are noon to 9 p.m. No separate Sunday raffle or food special was confirmed on its calendar.

NFL Sunday Ticket • Every game televised simultaneously
Clancy’s October 18 calendar explicitly lists NFL Sunday Ticket, with every game televised simultaneously. The neighborhood sports pub and outdoor Freaki Tiki area make it a convenient place to settle in with friends for football, food and drinks. No performer, raffle schedule or October 18-only food or drink price was posted in the Sunday calendar at the time of this update; check with the pub for any late additions.

The Boomers Experience • 6–9 p.m. | Bar Poker & Raffles • Noon
The Boomers Experience is on the updated entertainment calendar for 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Sunday promotions also list Bar Poker & Raffles starting at noon and a build-your-own Bloody Mary feature ending at 3 p.m. The Bloody Mary promotion shows an 11 a.m. start, while Sunday operating hours begin at noon, so call to confirm when service begins. 88 Live is also known locally as a Sunday football stop.

Tim Chandler • Noon–4 p.m. and 5–8 p.m.
Swordfish’s official music calendar confirms two Sunday performances by Tim Chandler: noon to 4 p.m. and again from 5 to 8 p.m. It is an easy waterfront choice for fresh seafood, tiki-bar drinks and live music. The on-site Flippin’ Mullet Sports Bar also promotes sports viewing and game-day specials generally, but it has not published October 18-specific pricing or a game schedule. Swordfish lists Sunday hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

For music by the water, begin at Swordfish at noon, then choose between Tim Chandler’s second set there and Doug Deming & the Jewel Tones at Cortez Kitchen starting at 5 p.m. Football fans can make Clancy’s their afternoon headquarters; 88 Live adds noon poker and raffles before The Boomers Experience starts at 6 p.m. All four stops are in the Cortez/West Bradenton area, so there is no need to travel far to build a full Sunday outing.
Schedules can change. This guide reflects official venue information. Call ahead for last-minute changes, seat availability, sports coverage and unposted specials.
